Nokia will make a global announcement in India on 9th of May. Nokia 501 or some new Lumia?

Nokia has sent invite to global tech media for a 9th may event in New Delhi. The invite just mentions “Time to shift gears” :). So, seems Nokia is planning to speed up new product introductions. Though they have gathered some speed with Lumia 720, 520, Nokia 105 and Asha 210 launches but may be time to see many new devices getting announced within a short time span.

The likely candidate which comes to mind is Nokia 501 which has passed certification in Indonesia with Asha 210, which already got announced on 24th April. India being the venue also reinforces the possibility of Nokia 501 which is possibly the first new-gen Asha device. Or, may be Nokia is planning to surprise us with some new Lumia announcement!!

May be you can sense Nokia shifting gears when you recall that next major announcement is in London on 14th of May.

Exciting times ahead!! Wot say readers?

Is gears not the accessory Part of Nokia?

    • Doesn’t make sense in the context to talk about “gears” as such. “Shifting gears” is more resonant with scale of announcement.
