If you are, the new Text Recognizer application which recently debuted in the Windows Phone store is all that you need. It is a simple OCR (Optical Character Reader.) which is connected to their cloud-based service and delivers outstanding OCR results.

It’s Very easy to digitize documents with Text Recognizer: just select OCR language, take a photo – and get it in your Windows Phone!

As said, the app works by sending the data to their cloud based service; an internet connection is always needed. However, if you’re too concerned about the confidentiality of your documents, you might think of turning off your data connection, but the app may not generate optimum results in such a case.
